I was born and grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. At the age of 13 my parents and I came to Switzerland. After doing matric I worked at the Gourmessa to earn money for my trip to Indonesia and Australia with Alex in 1994. Then I started my studies to become a secondary school teacher which I finished in 1999. In between the first course and University Alex and I travelled southern Africa for 6 months.

In July 1999 I had the opportunity to take part (for the second time) in a whale research project in Quebec (Canada).

After my studies I worked as a teacher in Hinwil and Benglen until shortly before our son Luca was born. Since then I am a professional mother mostly enjoying my time with my children.

2004 we fulfilled our dream and went travelling for 12 months with little Luca.

After that we moved to Richterswil where Alisha was born.

Shortly before we moved to our house in Ottenbach, Laila was born.

In Ottenbach I got involved in the primary school. On the one hand I taught English and on the other hand I'm in the "Elternbildung Ottenbach", where we organize events and workshops for parents. And then I'm still the mother of 3 children visiting the school :-)
